So Sad. Bo Beaus has closed it doors for good. We loved this place, had many special family gatherings and celebrations here thru the years. Great memories. The Brussel Sprouts on their menu were the best in town and you ALWAYS felt welcome here. Casa Gabriela will take its place 1/23. Thank you Bo Beaus for the wonderful memories.

I love BO-beau and I am so sad to hear they are closing. I was dumbfounded. Because San Diego really needs another Mexican spot. Anyways, if you want to try them out before 12/24, they have the best Brussies ever. They also have fabulous calamari for an app, and such a variety of different things to chose from. Sometimes I'll go in for apps and a drink. Sometimes I'll have a salad and flatbread, and sometimes I'll eat an entree. There are so many great things to chose from. The service is great. Everyone seems to really enjoy their job. There is a lot of seating, but you usually have to have a reservation to get a table. If not, sometimes you can get lucky and snag a spot at the bar. Either way the service is excellent. I'm really bummed to learn the rumor is true. You will be truly missed Bo!

Stopped in for a Happy Hour cocktail before dinner at a different restaurant down the street. The decor is nice and we really liked the patio with fire pit where we sat. Happy Hour food menu was good and great prices, too. The $7 Bartender's Choice cocktail was whiskey drink that was slightly sweet with orange garnish, don't recall what it was called. I typically don't drink whiskey but glad I tried it. It was really good.... and gave us a good buzz too . We ordered the slider with fries and calamari which were very tasty, too. Next time around we'll stay for dinner.

Came here for date night and BO-beau did not disappoint. It was a Friday night and we had no reservations and they made it work for us. Super happy they did because the food was great! I ordered the Boeuf Bourguignon and my husband got the Steak Frites. We both really enjoyed both dishes. The meat was cooked and seasoned well. Our server was very sweet and knowledgeable on the menu. The drinks were refreshing, especially on such a hot night. Parking was pretty easy since the farmers market had the street closed most of the afternoon. Looking forward to coming back.

I have been trying to come to this place for a while always booked. Gteat reviews. First the ambience is nice. It is nicer at night time Secone they have indoor and outdoor! Both are nice but I think their outdoor is special and nicer. We had the reservation for a birthday. The small cake was DELICIOUS! I think over all the food is great. The minis one star was for asking for no bacon in the brussel sprouts and still did get it eith bacon. Would I come back? Yes for sure. Very nice restaurant The manager or owner is very nice and keep checking on us The food is very good and brussel sprout was special! Very lovely experience

The food is consistently good here especially the Brussels sprouts and the scallops!! We've been a few times pre-covid and recently came back for dinner on the patio. They were slammed but there were multiple staff outside our waiter who checked on us, refilled our water etc. You must get their famous crispy parm Brussels sprouts. It's delicious and the best share plate or individual plate (whatever floats your boat). Food: - New York: steak was huge and cooked well, came with a generous serving of mashed potatoes and asparagus - Chicken was moist and flavorful, way too many fingerling potatoes after a giant portion of chicken - Boeuf Bourguignon - my friend be loved it - Pan Seared Scallops - delicious and filling, orzo pasta had pancetta too and I couldn't finish, had to bring home leftovers Prices are fair for the big portions and top notch service. Parking in downtown La Mesa is a mix of street parking and some public lots.

Downtown la Mesa is hoppin'! I really haven't gone down here since I was a kid, and it's great to see how lively it is. We arrived just as a farmers market was winding down, which would've been cool to walk through and support. Nestled at the end of the street, outside seating is brightly lit and busy - a good sign for a Friday night. We opted to sit inside since it was a bit chilly. Our table felt intimate, decorated with fresh rosemary and a modern candle. Seating is ample and we only waited 5 minutes to be seated after just happening on this. Their most popular appetizer, Crispy Brussel, is massive - basically a whole Costco sized bag of sprouts, and packed with crispy pork belly, shaved cheese and tangy balsamic drizzle. This is not meant for 1-2 people, and really could be shared with 6-8 people. For the price, it's the best bargain. As an FYI, the rest of the food is a little on the pricey side. For entrees - we ordered the scallops (2/5) and Serrano mussels (4/5). The orzo beneath the scallops was beyond bland, so much so that we added the broth from the mussels to help out. Wouldn't order this again since you only get 4 scallops and a large mound of orzo - not worth the price. The mussels on the other hand were nearly perfect - but boy was it spicy. There was literally 2 full serranos sliced in the broth. Rich in flavor, just way too many serranos - and I like spicy. It's worth checking out and we'll be back.
